Message for ToFeather

Hey sweets, gonna call you, and will take up your invitation to call you collect. I just need to figure out how to contact the operator to do it. I'm not what you'd call a stupid person but the telecommunications systems here in the USA are not what I would describe as user-friendly. The number one toll provider - AT&T (who I hate with a gnashing vengeance now - almost as much as the Shipping Agents From Hell in New Zealand) tell me that they are not allowed to make collect calls to New Zealand. They also won't tell me who will. I'll be in touch. I made the decision not to try and get to Sturgis, by the way. I decided it was too far to go, thru 1200miles of boring windy and potentially dangerous roads all by myself, just to say I'd been, and to have to do a u-turn almost as many miles back south to see what I wanted to see. It made no sense.

Thank you very much for the message. I wish I had known you had that "Useless" phone co. as your wireless provider, they do suck bug time. Something could have been done before you hit the road from the east. Bear in mind the time difference the further west you go. I leave for work @2:20 PM, mon. - thur., and friday i'm usually home. We take off most weekends, but almost always come back home. BUT tomorrow we are going up to Laconia for the "Reggea Festival" "They are Kewl Mon", and are going up to Mac & Gwynns to camp for the night and break camp as early as we can. We want to get home so we can take a ride. We have to take the "Cheap Sneaker" (a.k.a. '94 Sentra cpe.), as the tent and all the gear that's on Gordons property won't quite fit on the "Ole Injun" a.k.a. ('82 Yamaha - Windjammer).
I'm glad that Yamaha Shop took care of the "Bomb", I've found most "Yammy-Techs" to be pretty good folk. Now Honda people, I don't have much use for them. My experience is too long for here so I'll save it for a later date. I don't blame ya for cancelling on Sturgis, and if ya did get there you'd be tempted to stay for a few days, but it ends this Sunday. You just keep doing what you're doing, and keep a close check on how many miles you go from fill-up to fill-up. I always set the trip meter back at each fill up, and when I've got 125 - 135 miles I start looking for a fuel stop. I don't like to run it too low as there is no fuel pump, and the better the volume in the tank, that better the motor likes it. I'm getting 47-49 mpg on the 93 Sunoco, a little less on the MOB-OIL (Mobil), and try to not use too many other fuels as the "Injun" will protest quite vigorously. Well you take care and enjoy your adventure. Happy Trails, jim & Carol.

Hi there. Have been following your blog. Was wondering if you were ever going to throw your leg over the "bomb". Am jelous as hell. I want to be there when you get home and give the transit firm a piece of your substantial vocablary! Stay safe.

Hey, Sweetie - Was good to hear your voice! I have a feeling there are a bunch of people NOT at Sturgis who need to take in the view of You and Cherry Bomb to spark their dreams - Sturgis is too full and you'd blend in; you'd have been sight unseen where it counted most. Follow your heart; it's matching up with where it needs to be, mile by mile.

We had a bright red/orange summer tanager here today - usually lives south to Virginia and West, rarely seen here except in fall/winter at feeders. Did you send him? He was about your color...;)

Thinking of you always...
Gwyn (and Bill)

Weird stuff with that phone ...

You even got a new one from AT&T/Cingular which have the best coverage here in the US and it did work out here in the boonies of AR.
Bear in mind that it is a Go-Phone and need to have a little chunk of money in it, but that you know.

I have the similar Gp-Phone with the same provider and it works pretty good, as good as it gets hete in the US - because gloabally speaking, the phone system over here IS one of the worst, and by far not like it is in EUroland.

Fare safe and you may want to check that phone again. You may want your money back and start learning smoke-signals ...
