"Bad Apple Gas"

No, not the Cat Stevens version - the Sunoco version I purchased off the Interstate 90 near Syracuse New York. There are 4 grades of gasoline here, and old cheapskate me thought we'd get by on the low stuff. WRONG!!! My girl had a tantrum, decided to stop running, had to be sweet-talked into running again, and only settled down and started being nice for me when I went a grade up. She called the shots yesterday - lesson learned.

I am not liking what I hear about that ft tire... the tube really... I set it to 34 psi here, and in 24 hours time or so it dropped 6 pounds which is about 1/2 pound per hour riding or not....

Rt1 maillady called here last night.. I have no permissions to give anyone your numba' and have one here for you from her...

Get a tire gauge and check that tire atleast 2 times a day. IF it begins to need air that often youy have no choice but to stop and get a new tube. The other option is a more than stranded sort of disaster..

Well hello Max. I spent 20 minutes writing a comment and then went thru' all this sign up stuff and my comment is gone. It's 3:15 AM here and I don't remember all I said.
Hope you are enjoying your voyage by land on your "Steel Pony" you call the Cherry Bomb.
A word of advise, ALWAYS use HIGH TEST in MOTORCYCLES. They don't like low or even middle grade. The lower the grade of gas you use, the hotter your motor will run. You'll get BETTER mileage, AND BETTER performance with the high test fuels, AND stick with the major brands, ie MOBIL, SHELL, SUNOCO. Stay away from CHEVRON, NOT a good fuel for motorcycles.
I've had bad experiences with it as have several of my friends.
I hope you get this on your blog, we enjoyed meeting you and riding the day we went out thru' the "Kanc" and the intense "shower" and the ride back. We were lucky to miss it the rest of the way home. Best Wishes, and "Happy Trails" jim & Carol.

Hi, Tofeather!!!! It was really cool to meet you too, and I'm so sorry that we chased ya all the way to The Pink Caddillac with no result!!! I was hanging out to spend more time with you. The Laconia Bandanna you gave me is in a very safe place, since I lost Mac's beloved Dodge one on the way back from the mad dash to the Caddy. Thanks for the tip about high grade, matey, will try that. The engine does run very hot after a long day, I can feel it in waves coming off her when I stop at traffic lights etc. The heat of the days in general won't be helping. And, I guess, if I can have shoes, Cherry can have top shelf gasso.
